On March 31, 2026, Studio 397 released Version 1.3, the first major update of the year. Content-wise, the third ELMS DLC pack rounded off the European content cycle: the Duqueine D09 (LMP3, Toyota twin-turbo V6) and Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya arrived, along with additional track layouts for Silverstone and Paul Ricard. On the technical side, the update brought native Logitech TrueForce support and noticeable performance improvements. (official announcement)
The bigger news, though, was a delay: the long-awaited career mode, originally promised for Q1 2026, was officially pushed to “later this year” — Motorsport Games CEO Stephen Hood stressed that the complex feature deserved the time it needed rather than being rushed. Still, early screenshots showed different career starting profiles, from “Young Driver” with a small budget to the “Wealthy Amateur.” The studio said its next season pass plans would be revealed at the real 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.
Straight4 Studios and GIANTS Software unveiled Update 2.0 on March 25, 2026 — the biggest update since the bumpy November launch. Highlights include a completely rebuilt user interface, a reworked career mode with real sponsor brands (including Liqui Moly), podium ceremonies, and viewable championship trophies, plus an anti-cheat system alongside a refined license points system for cleaner online racing. On the physics side, the N-GT class became the new reference point with the game’s most advanced tire model to date. (official announcement)
In the following weeks, the studio kept up the now-familiar post-launch cadence: Update 2.0.0.2 (April 9) brought a new throttle response model, 2.0.0.3 (May 4) focused on performance and stability, and 2.0.0.4 (May 20) further improved handling and AI opponents. Just two days earlier, on May 18, Straight4 also announced a notable new hire: Aristotelis Vasilakos joined as the studio’s new Chief Creative Officer. Late June brought another improvement package with Update 2.0.0.6, paving the way for the “GT Icons Pack.”
Both studios show a similar pattern across the first half of 2026: big, ambitious updates followed by tight rounds of refinement. For Le Mans Ultimate, that pace costs the career mode a delay; for Project Motor Racing, Update 2.0 is visibly an attempt to win back community trust after a rocky start — including a prominent addition to the team.
